Paid by your company

Get it expensed

Most teams have a learning budget and it usually goes unspent. The course is $199, one payment, no subscription and no travel, which makes it the easiest thing on that budget to approve. Here is everything you need to ask.

  1. Send your manager the email below

Most approvals are one line back. Keep the ask small and concrete: one payment, no subscription, no travel, and something the team keeps afterwards.

  2. Buy through the invoice link

It is the same price and the same course. The only difference is that the checkout asks for the full billing address, which is what a finance team needs on the paperwork.

  3. Put the company name and VAT number on the invoice

Polar issues a PDF invoice for every paid order. Open the customer portal, sign in with the address you paid with, and add the company name, the VAT number and the billing address. The invoice regenerates with them on it.

  4. Send the certificate when you finish

Some companies want proof the money turned into something. The certificate carries your name and the date and prints on one page.

The email

Copy it, change the two names, send it. Short on purpose: a manager approving a $199 line item is not reading a page.

Subject: Training request: Prompt to Production, $199
Hi [name],

I would like to expense a course called Prompt to Production ($199, one payment, no subscription).

It is about shipping production code with an AI coding agent: how to set up the repository so the agent stops guessing, how to review what it writes, and how to keep the rules it follows in the repository itself. There are 17 modules, and every one ends with a lab I run on our own codebase, not on a toy project.

What you get back: the work I do in the labs is our repository, so the output is a documentation layer and a set of rules the team can keep using. I will write up what I changed and share it with the team.

The receipt is a proper invoice and I can put the company name and VAT number on it.

Thanks,
[your name]

The invoice

Payments run through Polar, who are the merchant of record, so the receipt is a real invoice with tax handled properly wherever you are. The link below asks for the full billing address at checkout.

The company name and the VAT number go on afterwards, and you do it yourself: open the customer portal, sign in with the address you paid with, and add the company name, the VAT number and the billing address. The PDF is regenerated with them on it. Nothing to ask anybody for, at any hour.

More than one of you

Seats are cheaper per person and they are one invoice instead of five expense claims. You buy the block, then hand the seats out by email; each one is lifetime access for that person.

A different number of seats, or a purchase order first? Reply to any email from us and say how many.

The certificate

When you have the course, your certificate lives at /certificate. It carries your name and the date, and it prints on one page. Some finance teams want it attached to the claim; most do not ask.

Refunds are 30 days, no questions asked, which is also a sentence you can put in the email if your manager wants a way out.
